The Ayrshire Hospice provides excellence in palliative and end-of-life care for inpatients and their families.

It supports individuals aged 16 and over who have a life-limiting diagnosis, which includes respiratory and heart diseases, neurological conditions, cancers, and other illnesses. 

When necessary, the hospice ensures a seamless transition from young adult hospice services to its care.

The hospice's care focuses on improving quality of life in various ways, including symptom control support and advice, emotional and spiritual care, social care, and personal care when required at the end of life.

Additionally, it offers specialised pharmacy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy services, as well as highly valued complementary therapy and Respite and Response services.

Care is provided in various settings, including NHS Ayrshire and Arran hospitals, care homes, private residences, the In-Patient Unit, and Living Well Hubs.

The hospice can offer care wherever an individual considers their home to be, regardless of any associated complexities.

Family members, close friends, and carers also receive support both during the illness and in bereavement.
